The photo is made in the USSR in the 1930's. Reproduced in the US to 8x10in. The man on top right is a senior lieutenant (see three cubes on a collar tab).  The photo is assumed to have been made in Ukraine for no other reason than my own "sixth sense".

The postcard was written, presumably, by the doctor (2nd from the left) to his "old friend" German Yakovlevich and his wife Ekaterina Solomonovna, who were, judging from their names, assimilated or baptized Jews. Signature illegible, M Tes... or M P...

We could not find his likeness in available reference sources.

Unidentified location.

  A group of three German soldiers and a Jewish boy in front of a coffee house. The two windows on the right are filled with photographs, most likely a photographer's place. Postcard written by one Franz; mentions by Wize Feldwebel Steur and Feldwebel Stn. Templin. Dated August 1916.
